ISBN code

Library Bibliographic Classification is a classification system used in libraries for cataloging and systematization of book collections. It was developed in the Soviet Union and is still actively used in Russia and some other countries of the former USSR. Age rate

According to the federal law "On Protection of Children from Information Harmful to Their Health and Development" (FL No. 436-FZ of 29.12.2010), all literary works, regardless of genre, whether in print or electronic form, have to be labeled with appropriate age limits. This requirement is aimed at protecting children from materials that may be harmful to their health or upbringing.

0+ — Content for children younger than 6 years old may include symbolic scenes of violence if they are appropriate to the genre, provided with sympathy for the victim and emphasizing the victory of good over evil.

6+ — Descriptions of non-realistic scenes of disease, accidents, and violent acts are acceptable, although without describing their consequences.

12+ — It is acceptable to depict violence and disasters without detail. Alcohol, tobacco and drug consumption may present only in a context of condemnation. Simple descriptions of hugs and kisses are allowed.

16+ — References to disease and disasters without details are acceptable in the books. Demonstration of violence and the use of harmful substances are condemned. Roughhouse language is acceptable, swearing is not. Sex scenes are allowed without anatomical details.

18+ — The book contains detailed descriptions of diseases, disasters, drug and alcohol use, realistic intimate scenes, unconventional relationships and swear words.

Publication abstract

A brief description of the book, article, or any other published material content. It provides basic information about the subject matter and nature of the work, helping the readers to understand the essence of the document and whether its suitability to their needs.

For formats larger than A5, the recommended length of the abstract is no more than 800 characters of text. For A5 and smaller formats no more than 400-500 characters are accepted.
