International Standard Serial Number, or ISSN
The unique number that is assigned to all serial publications, such as newspapers, magazines, or other regularly published issues. The ISSN consists of the letters ISSN and eight numerals. For example, the ISSN might look like this: ISSN 0134-3475.
This number helps to identify and distinguish one serial edition from another. It is usually indicated on the cover and the front page of the serial edition, usually at the very top of it.
The ISSN is assigned by a special international center in Paris, which monitors the uniqueness of the numbers.
It is important to note that the presence of an ISSN does not determine the status of the publication, it only serves for its unique identification.
