Heading

The item that represents text elements used for designation of various parts or sections of a book. They help the reader to navigate through the text and quickly find interesting sections. The headings can be of different levels and details, including:

  1. Book heading: the book title, which is indicated on the title page and usually reflects its main theme or content.
  2. Chapter headings: books, especially the ones with multiple chapters or sections, usually have headings for each chapter. The heading of the chapter is a brief description of the contents of the exact part of the book.
  3. Subheadings: sometimes the heading of a chapter may be accompanied by a subheading that complements or clarifies the main title.
  4. Section headings: some books, especially textbooks and reference books, may have sections with their own headings.
  5. Page headings: each page of a book may also have headings indicating its content.

Headings in books play an important role in organizing information and facilitating navigation through the text. They help the reader quickly identify what is written in a particular section and choose the part of the book to read in the first turn.
